‘Malayala Vidyalayam’ is an initiative aimed at  helping students learn Malayalam language and preserving our mother tongue, Malayalam, and providing the new generation with a deep understanding of the language. നമ്മുടെ മാതൃഭാഷയായ മലയാളത്തെ ചേര്‍ത്തുപിടിക്കാനും, പുതുതലമുറയ്ക്ക് മലയാളത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് ആഴത്തിലുള്ള അറിവ് നല്‍കാനും ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ടുള്ള ഉദ്യമമാണ് മലയാള വിദ്യാലയം. പല സമൂഹങ്ങളും അവരുടെ മാതൃ ഭാഷയില്‍ നിന്നും അകലുമ്പോള്‍, അവര്‍ തന്നെ അന്യ ഭാഷകളെ ഔദ്യോഗിക ഭാഷയായി ബോധപൂര്‍വം വളര്‍ത്തിയെടുക്കുന്ന സാഹചര്യമാണുള്ളത്. ഇത് മാതൃഭാഷയെ കൈയ്യൊഴിയുന്ന സാഹചര്യവും സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നു. ഇന്ത്യയിലും ഇത്തരം മനോഭാവത്തിലൂടെയാണ് കടന്നുപോകുന്നത്. കേരളത്തിലും ഈ പ്രവണത ശക്തിപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നു.

The strengthening of public schools in Kerala is favorable for the growth of the Malayalam language. However, it is a serious concern that many students who complete secondary education are still unable to grasp Malayalam language basics, read or write their mother tongue well, and lack adequate knowledge of the Malayalam script. Significant educational interventions are needed to address this situation.

കേരളത്തില്‍ പൊതുവിദ്യാലയങ്ങള്‍ ഏറെ ശക്തിപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നത് മലയാള ഭാഷയുടെ വളര്‍ച്ചയ്ക്ക് അനുഗുണമാകുന്നുണ്ട്. എന്നാല്‍ പലപ്പോഴും സെക്കന്ററി വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കുന്ന കുട്ടികള്‍ക്ക് പോലും മാതൃഭാഷ നന്നായി എഴുതാനോ വായിക്കാനോ സാധിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നതും മലയാള അക്ഷരമാല വേണ്ടവിധം അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നതും ഗൗരവമേറിയ കാര്യമായി കാണേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. ഇത്തരമൊരവസ്ഥയെ പരിഹരിക്കുന്നതിന് വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ തലത്തില്‍ കാര്യമായ ഇടപെടലുകള്‍ ആവശ്യമാണ്.

As a starting point, this project has been designed with the aim of strengthening the mother tongue awareness among children living abroad and developing their ability to write and read without spelling errors. The steps of knowledge, the foundations of letters, have been developed into a modern curriculum called ‘Manjulam Malayalam,’ designed for Malayalam language learning with ease which is based on contemporary linguistics and phonetics. Through these learning activities, students can progress easily and enjoyably.
